SCAFFOLDING AWARENESS
Scaffolding is an essential component around site and is in use on a wide variety of builds and works. From basic structures to complex, multi-storey builds, there is far more to it than simply erecting scaffolds to work from, so safety is naturally an absolute must for training and operations. Understanding how to keep operatives, workers nearby and the public who often walk near or underneath scaffolding safe from harm is critical in responsible scaffolding works.
This Gravitas Scaffolding Safety Awareness training course provides the knowledge and skills required to understand how to work safely with scaffolding and access equipment and deal with issues when they arise.
In addition, delegates will receive training in the various legislation associated with work at height and a background in the different additional pieces of equipment available to aid safety and prevent accidents.
Course Programme
The one-day training is a mixture of classroom-based discussion and practical demonstrations focussing on safety knowledge and skills of working with Scaffolding and access equipment.
Delegates will review legal requirements, ensure safety compliance and inspections, and understand procedures, appropriate documentation and classifications.
The course content includes:
• An introduction to Scaffolding and Scaffolding terminology
• General responsibilities in Scaffolding
• Applicable legislation, BSEN12811 part 1, HSE recommendations, current industry practice and SG4:15.
• Working platforms and their safe working loads
• The appreciation of all types of independent, putlog scaffolding
• Work at Height 2005 - procedures and regulation
• Accident prevention and reporting
• Slips, trips and falls
• Personal protective equipment (PPE)
Assessment consists of an assessment paper at the end of the session.
